The columns began their life on the East Portico of the Capitol in 1828. They were quarried from sandstone near Aquia Creek in Virginia and were barged to Washington in the early days of our country before the familiar Capitol dome was completed.
Hi, my name is Nona, I am a self-taught photographer. My first camera experience was as a child and that curiosity remains to seek beauty in hidden places. I find most enjoyable the moments when you "hap upon" something beautiful, unplanned but perfect, those moments allow me to capture and create memories that will last a lifetime... It can be by the ocean, in the mountains, or the desert. - My focus is macro photography, street photography, landscape and special events, family reunions, weddings, and graduations. I love looking at the inside of any flower where the natural beauty lies... and releasing it for all to see and behold. -Nona W. Kumah
